Election 2008: LIVEBLOGGING The Results
2:09 AM: Signing off. Parting thoughts. I will start an open thread for people to comment.
2.01: AM: Pothik: Shuchinta reports: 191-24-08.
2 AM: Naeem: Nurul Kabir on Channel 1. Saying that this verdict is a vote for seperation of religion and state. I am noticing that the Seat Tally bug on top right of screen is sponsored by PRAM Chanachur. Results tally teo sponsor? Bit much
1:51 AM: We will closing off our live blogging session in 10 minutes. Thank you all for joining. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
1:44 am: Asif: An AL source says that victory processions are prohibited by AL until results are official.
1:43 am: A source has confirmed that Channel I reporter was told to stop reporting results from Khagrachari as there has definitely been irregularity with poll counting. Another source said, the instruction to not report results may have come from EC as they are investigating reports of irregularity, but it cannot be confirmed on the record.
1:32 am: Asif: Joining in again. Just did a BBC thing with Dr. Mustaq Khan. AL now has won 182 out of 210 declared. This is bloodbath. The questions centered around what should they do now that they are forming the govt.
1:20 am: BBC shows British stuff upper lip: “substantial win”.
1:13 am: Unofficial tallies on different stations
155-17 as per Boishakhi
156-16 per ISLAMIC TV
120-16 per BanglaVision
132-15 per RTV
149-21 on NTV
123-15 on Channel 1
135-19 on DIGANTA
178-18 on ATN
12:50 pm: Syeed: Here are some photos taken just as polls were closing.
12:45pm: Naeem: Mymensingh-7, winner is Reza Ali, founder and head of top advertising agency BITOPI. “Batar dokane bujhi jai she/wmon shomoi tare pichu deko na”
12:25 pm: Mridul: What should AL/ Sk. Hasina do to make sure that past mistakes after landslide victory are not repeated:
- Sk. Hasina should not surround her with sycophants, who will give her a rosy picture to serve their own individual interests
- She should allow a very free media – and she should take criticisms from the media seriously
- AL should consider adopting one of the strongest parts of BNP manifesto – the selection of Deputy Speaker and some parliamentary committee chairmen from the opposition – under this case with such over-whelming majority, it can only enhance the image of AL and perhaps even neutralize a lot of opposition resistance and hartals
- Sk. Hasina should choose some able technocrats to run critical ministries such as finance, commerce, foreign, education and health – or at least take them as deputy ministers
- She should not postpone the trial of war criminals with the excuse that citizens have more important things to care for – nothing can be more important than the question of our identity which will always be muddled as long as war criminals are around to twist our history
- She should bring back the issue of secularism to national center stage as promised in their manifesto
- The success of AL is largely owed to the youth votes – there should be an explicit effort to try to bring more and more young people into mainstream political party prominence – the young should not only be looked at as part of Chatro League
12:27 am: Naeem: Abul Barkat on RTV saying Hindu candidates have won from seats where there is not a strong Hindu vote bloc, “therefore proves people are basically not communal”.
12:15 am: Syeed: Many thought a landslide Obama win will make democrats arrogant. But at the end, it didn’t. Obama is creating a bi-partisan cabinet. What will happen in Bangladesh? Well, last time AL won, it made a multi-party cabinet… even took the risk of having a very critical President. So yes, landslide is bad.. but if it happens, then it better be a center-left
Rumi 12.20 AM: I DOUBT whether BNP will stay in Parliament with less then 50 seats.. they may resign en masse.. But it is the chance for BNP to correct and reinvent itself. It will also be a chance for Khaleda and her family to clean themselves and the images..
Syeed:12:04 AM:Five reasons how this election is deferent from previous ones:
1. There was no dummy candidate to support extra agents in the polling centers
2. Voter list with photo to reduce fake votes
3. Negative campaign was absent (remember 2001’s Shabash Bangladesh where an animated carton was shown Hasina dragging nose on the floor and election commission approved its transmission?)
4. Pre-election intimidation was limited
5. The most festive election ever (at least in most constituencies)
Jyoti: 3. negative campaign was absent? really? all those talks of desh bikri is positive?
Mridul: ABM Musa on Channel I – this landslide victory is harmful for a party, we saw that both in 1973 and in 2001
Lopa Tasneem: agree with musa shaheb. it may make them arrogant.
Jyoti: 11.56pm: I promised UV regular KGazi daal-bhaat when a free and fair election is held and army returns to the barrack. Bhai KGazi, amar baari daal-bhaat, chole ashen.
Jyoti: UV regular Fugstar asked me sometime ago about potential Finance Minister in the next government. While Muhit has been touted for the role, there have been speculations about the post going to a technocrat. If this is true, we need someone who can lock horns with bureaucrats and donors. That means, please no academic or think tank researcher.
Syeed: 11:37: Actually, only AL can embark on trial of war crime, since they usually do better on food price, electricity anyway. Parties that won’t do the trial, couldn’t even do the food-price, electricity either.
Zafar: muhith will be finance minister i am almost sure. m.k. alamgit home
alamgir foreign minister, i wonder …anisul islam mahmud wants it …
Zafar: if hasina really wants to show that she is superwoman she should give it to kamal hossain
sure, but still just informed speculation at this stage …
me: MK Alamgir has conviction.. will it be problem for him to be home minister..
Jyoti: tally 56-16
Zafar: finance minister needs to be someone with stature in the party otherwise he won’t be able to control the other ministers and beat them into submission. even when saifur was a technocrat finance minister, he still had enormous clout within the party. ditto for shah ams kibria. that’s why they were both successful. i can’t think of anyone else other than muhith who has that clout within the AL. atiur rahman is well regarded and very competent and there are others as well who could do the job, but i think finance minister needs to be someone of greater stature within the party, hence muhith.
Zafar: ok, superwoman is out, but perhaps hasina can show herself as some lesser superhero by reaching back out to saber and noor. i would love to see that
Mridul: i agree with zafar about muhith – he will possibly be the natural choice
Mridul: do u think saber h chowdhury will be considered for cabinet position?
Zafar: i would like to think so, but it is doubtful. my understanding is that there are too many people in the party rank and file who would be up in arms, which makes it difficult. but you never know.
Mridul: Saka Chowdhury won !
Jyoti: BNP 9 out of 10 announced seats in chittagong
BNP for an independent chittagong!
Rumi: And CTG is the only place Khaleda did not go..
Jyoti: heh, that is true! what are you saying? khaleda’s presence hurt the party?
Zafar: this has to be erhad’s last run through. one presumes that their victories are due to some combination of his “charisma” (gag!) and a rejection of BNP/JI. thus, there is every chance that they will end up in the AL column next election. especially if AL makes a push there.
Syeed: 11:37: Actually, only AL can embark on trial of war crime, since they usually do better on food price, electricity anyway. Parties that won’t do the trial, couldn’t even do the food-price, electricity either.
11:40 pm: Have received reports that something has gone wrong with counting in Khagrachari. Rangamati division has announced victor is AL, but results for Khagrachari have stopped being announced for last 2 hours. At 8:48 pm, “officially” they announced 22 centers. Around 9:15 pm, unofficially 68 centers. At that point, as reported in this LiveBlog UPDF/Haati/ndependent candidate Ujjal Sriti Chakma was leading AL (46,056 to 32,172). But then suddenly at 9:45 pm they were told that results were only in for 42 centers, not 68 centers. Reversing previous data. The explanation I got was that each center sends fax to DC office with results, and the results are read out from the fac at DC office. Which is how the unofficial results come out. But then it goes to Magistrate office, where it gets verified and announced again. And only this result is official. (have not verified the above chain of reporting). So somehow the 68 results became 42, don’t know what happened to rest. Results declared for Manikchari, Lokkhichari, Mohalchori. But no results for Khagrachari Sadar, Panchori, Matiranga, Ramgor, Dighinala. And for last 2 hours no results being announced.
UPDF activists allege that results in remaining centers are being manipulated to make AL candidate the winner. Keep in mind that UPDF wants full self-rule, removal of all army camps from CHT, etc. As such, they are unpopular with the district administration of CHT
RUMI:1133PM: Who will get more seats, BNP or JP?
Rumi 1130 PM: Jamaat leader Motiur Rahman Nizami, Abdus Sobhan declared lost. AK Khondokar won.
Rumi: If AL embarks on trial of war crime, Mujib killing now, they will be seen as resorting to vengeance instead of working on food price, electricity etc.
ZAFAR 11:10 pm:Re: BNP allegation of rigging, they tried this in 1996, it ain’t going to fly. didn’t fly for AL in 2001. almost every incident of irregularities/intimidation was committed by 4-party alliance.
Mridul: AL should take up bringing back secularism and trial of war criminals at center stage as a top priority due to the following reasons: 1. the jubillance of the moment will be fade away 2. Jamaat and other Islamic parties will surely have strong negative reactions right after the election and their negativism should be capitalized on to build stronger momentum for secularism and trial of war criminals 3. it is very apparent that the entire country is in a mood for change – that is why the biggest and hardest changes should be attempted first
11.08pm: Jyoti: Food prices are on the way down (http://jrahman.wordpress.com/2008/11/28/an-unexpected-honeymoon/). AL will claim the credit. It is the perfect opportunity to resolve the 15 Aug trial or war crimes trial.
RUMI:11.07 PM BNP activist on phone, a comment that the politicians can not say publicly.. (Can’t authenticate the fact) .” Hala Police are RAB BNP re maira falaise..AL/JP police er shamney taka dise .. ar BNP taka dite gelei khali arrest korse.. Barishal e ekjon re cross fire e marse.. ” [ Damn Police/RAb has destroyed BNP. They did not let us spend any money to buy votes. Whenever we tried to disburse money, they arrested us. And AL-JP folks rampantly distributed money in front of police. They killed one BNP man in cross fire in Barisal.]
Lopa Tasneem: Friend says(from her Chittagong source) Mohiuddin Alamgir leading by 60 thousand votes against Milon

10:46pm: Naeem: Khaleda Zia press conference on NTV. She said the money found on a BNP activist, “That is his own money. He is a businessman.”
10:45 pm: Jyoti: Hasina alleged irregularities at 9am this morning. I suppose BNP would formally claim election engineering. But I don’t see them actually boycotting parliament. They will go to the court I guess.
10:43 pm: Jyoti: Hasina has asked the party to stop victory celebration and show restraint, according to the NTV.
10:41 pm: Rumi: Question Will ALL bring back secularism to constitution? Will AL repeal 5th through 9th amedments? i.e. will AL repeal Ershad’s amendment of Islam as state religion? Will AL finish trial of Mujib?
10:40 pm: Mridul: AL has mentioned the following in their manifesto regarding secularism: “use of religion for politics will be stopped” – with more than 2/3 majority in the parliament, this should be one of the primary promises that they should try to keep and citizens who voted them to power will keep a close watch !!
10:36 pm: Rumi: Secularism was not in Awami League’s election manifesto. They did not commit to change constituion to bring back secularism. 2/3rd majority will make it very difficult for Awami League..They will have no excuse not to revert to 72 constitution.
10:34 pm: Naeem: NTV so far has best on-screen graphics (goal in empty field). The winner’s face is bigger and closer. Loser’s face in back with weird perspective graphic.
10:31 pm: Mridul: I foresee Bangladesh soon becoming a center of international attention for becoming one of the few Muslim-majority country that has given a strong verdict at national level with regards to keeping religion out of politics
10:28 pm: Naeem: Rizvi Ahmed’s closing word “Our chairperson had always said there would be election engineering”. I anticipate BNP is going to dig in its heels and refuse to accept the results, because it’s a matter of survival for the seniors. If BNP loses by a large margin, their rank & file will rebel and throw our the top leadership. So why should the top leadership accept this result? Only Channel 1 carried the news conference.
10:27 pm: Jyoti: Rizvi Ahmed is giving a press briefing about irregularities like ballot box stuffing. He is also alleging that polling centres were overwhelmed (dokhol) by the other side. He is alleging that a female commissioner in Dhaka named Suraiya was seriously injured by the Grand Alliance.
10:20 pm: Nazim: Boy was I wrong. I didn’t see it coming. As reports come pouring in AL is headed to about 220 seats. And each seat by huge margins. Big heads have (are) falling. Nizami, Amir Khusru, Delwar are few of them. Here in Sylhet MA Muhit has turned his 40000 deficit to a lead of that much. AL will win all 6 seats here and likely all 19 in the division. Saifur Rahman has also lost his Moulvibazaar seat. Even the mighty Illyas Ali’s Sylhet BNP jaugernaut has lost its wheel. I am now at MA Muhit’s residence cum HQ. The atmosphere electric. Huge crowd. It was difficult coming in. Specially through the personal security. Cheers going up every few seconds as another centre or seat is announced. Some have even gotten tired shouting. No one here believes what is unfolding. I am sure this was the atmosphere at the Obama camp two months ago. Ok boys and girls take out the the pens and calculators. New mathematics in play.
10:17 pm: Rumi: So now we have rejected war crimes. They are now defeated. We now need to:
1. Try them, not in media but in a court of law.
2. Try corruption in court, including those against Trique.
3. 3. And talk about something which I always thought more important..i.e. global warming, Energy security, Food security
10:15 pm: Naeem: CEC’s comments that people are spending their own money to go home to villages to vote is being picked up by all anchors. Saw three station talking heads praising people’s willingness to spend money. But by the way, in our office, two people could not go home due to lack of tickets on time.
10:13 pm: Asif: Hear an analysis from me and Mustaq Khan of SOAS at 5.15 GMT at bbcbengali.com. I am off to the station. Also, the CNN reporter said Bangladesh election is not getting the coverage it should for what’s happening in Gaza. So spare a thought for the Palestines.
10:12 pm: Mridul: Abul Basr Md. Abdus Subhan Mia, an alleged war criminal, is trailing behind Golam Faruque Khondoker Prince of AL by approx 6,000 votes in Pabna-5 with more than 10% of the vote counted
10:10pm: Lopa: Nizami lost in Pabna to a freedom fighter named Tuku. I also heard Jamaat’s Mujahidi, Kamruzzaman, Saidi – all losing.
10:07 pm: Mridul: Abul Kawser Md. Nazrul Islam, an alleged war criminal, is trailing behind TIM Fazley Rabbi Chowdhury of Jatiya Party in Gaibandha-3. with about 20% of he vote counted
10:06pm: Tazreena: Jamaat emir Matiur Rahman Nizami is trailing behind tukku
10.02 PM: Syeed: Jamate Islami head Matiur Rahman Nizami lost it. Boy, is this an anti-war criminal verdict!
10:00pm: Naeem: I can see the speed of data is getting fast & furious. TV Station anchors look overwhelmed and graphics are not matching their voice.
9:56 pm: Asif: at the absense of DS and bdnews24…traffic is hitting us bigtime…we may get overwhelmed soon…back up is to swtich it drishtipat.org as mirror site.
9:55pm: Jyoti: Jyoti: BNP’s Office Secretary Rizvi Ahmed talked about pre-stuffed ballot boxes and other such discrepancies. Talking heads in TV channels don’t seem convinced.
RUMI 950 PM: Why BNP is losing so badly?
1. Failed governance.
2. Global economic slump
3. Successful campaign against accused war criminals in cabinet
4. Successful campaign to demonize Prime Minister’s sons as corrupt/ Mr 10%, etc. ( With great help from those sons themslves)
5. Abject failure of Khleda Zia to keep good term with media
6. Campaign against corruption by civil society/ print electronic media.
7. People wanted a smooth transition
8. Anti incumbency … more to come..
9:45 pm: Mridul: Farid Uddin Chowdhury, an alleged war criminal, trailing in Sylhet 5. Hafiz Ahmed Majumder AL 1,936. Farid Uddin Chowdhury Jamaat-E-Islami 1,060
Jyoti: 9.42pm: Any idea what’s happening to ex-BNPs? I think Kamal Ibne Yusuf is losing (so is Mujahid btw, with the seat going to AL). Is it similar with Oli and B Chowdhury? What about Mannan Bhuiyan?
SAYEED: Asaduzzaman Nur won in Nilfamari!
Asif 945 PM: .this is the update from Murad Sounds like a landslide to me. Estimates now are that the Awami League will get between 220-250 ! Farhan is here with me and telling me Awami will get all 20 seats in Dhaka and in Sylhet my prediction of 12 to 7 to Awami League appears an underestimate. Its likely that all 19 will go to them here in Sylhet. Its clear the electoral rules of the game in B’desh and changed completely.
Hana: Projector installed at Bihari camp to watch election results.
Naeem 940 PM: Asaf Ud Dowla on NTV: “I have never in my lifetime seen our military voluntarily give up power. So if they do it this time, it is a new pattern.”
9.31pm: Jyoti: Someone said at the living room, ‘what will happen to the civil society?’ – I am reminded of this line from an old Feedback song: gorib gorib robe, borolok boro hobe, aar buddhijibi gon roiben beche, buddhidipto kono chhoddobeshe’.
Sayeed: Atus Samad @ NTV is blaming BNP for bringing Jamat in the cabinet last time. He thinks it was a great mistake and he alalong opposed it.
Naeem: These TV stations really need to learn how to do on-screen graphics. Graphics are hard to read (especially the numbers, which is the money shot) and they don’t stay on screen long enough. Too many channel bugs hogging the screen. Just watched NTV for ten minutes trying to write down numbers, hopeless.
NAEEM 930 PM Nilfamari-2: Popular actor, Asaduzzaman Noor, running from AL, leads 2 to 1
LOPA: 930 PM RTV talkshow….saying landslide for AL
. No win for Jamaat yet
NAEEM: 920 PM: Got this gchat from Nayeem Mahbub: “Everyone at TIME, is following the Bangladeshi elections closely! I posted link to blog on my facebook status, and people there are following your blog”
9:15 pm: Rumi: We will see a plethora lawsuits against EC and the results…reason for law suits..Time was short..Constituency demarcation was poor. Not enough time was given to campaign.EC bias. Last moment extension of withdrawal time..Last moment extension of withdrawl time..Past deadine allocation of symbols..These all will be in the court..But better court than street..
9:12 pm: Naeem: NTV announces unofficially Shaikh Hasina wins in Gopalganj-3
9:10 pm: Rumi: VP Joynal was one MP who was known as a Godfather/terror. yet he own. is it an exception or a trend towards AL not against corruption/terror..VP Joynal is a lone BNP candidate who won..so far..
9:06 pm: Rumi Only fear if BNP takes the results as an endorsement of the violence AL resorted to during the days preceeding 1/11 army coup. AL will try a broader coalition, keeping Mohajot members happy with different perks. It will be interesting to know What Ershad gets if AL>150 seats.. I predict, AL will also reach out non jot members like Col Oli, B Chowdhury, BNP reformists etc. This will be intended to isolate BNP Jamaat..
9:05 PM: Ujjal Sriti Chakma, running under Haati marka/Independent, UPDF supported candidate. In Khagrachari. Official results for 68 centers. UPDF/HAATI 46,156 votes; AL/Nouka 32,172 votes, BNP 7,024; Dowat Kolom 2,462. There are total 179 centers in Khagrachari.
9:04p pm: Rumi: Khaleda Zia declared winner at Bogra 6
9:03 pm: Asif: Nijami and Saifur have now officially lost.
9:01 pm: Mridul: In Feni-2, the first seat called, BNP’s Joynal Abedin (VP) beat ALs Iqbal Sobhan Chy by 95,118 votes to 67,688. Is this the first one that goes to BNP?
8:58 pm: Naeem: Gchat message received from an analyst: “It will be interesting to compare the position of the EC, Army, human rights folks, and the CHT parties on events in the Hill Tracts. I suspect they will have different stories. Of the same alleged incidents in CHT. I understand that the CHT issues are being raised already at the EC. (at the central results tabulation)”
8.55pm: Jyoti: I feel bad for the TV anchors. They have to pretend that this coverage is interesting. It’s 9pm and I am wondering when to go to sleep. And I am a political junkie! My wife has gone to the other room to watch Friends rerun.
RUMI 845 PM: BNP Bigwigs KH Delwar Hossain, SQC, KH Mosharraf Hossain, MK Anwar, Saifur Rahman, Jamiruddin Sirker all are losing or already lost. Even unimaginable places lik Rajshahi town, Barisal town, and even Khaledque of Mirpur is losing.
Jyoti: 8.43pm: No vote has made no show so far.
8.27pm: Jyoti: I wonder if Lt Gen Masud will be replaced as our HC to Australia. I think it’s about time a four star General is sent to that very important mission.
8:26 pm: Rumi: War crime issue will die down.. as long as it will become clear that BNP Jamaat alliance is not unbeatable. If AL manages to get >150 ( Which is almost certain now); Ershad will be the condom 2008.

8:25 pm: Naeem: Shibli Mohammed on RTV saying “how can war criminals ride around with our flag on their official car?”
8.22pm: Jyoti: I guess I don’t have to worry about seeing Ershad’s name in the Army Stadium an more.
8.15pm: Jyoti: looks like my 2nd fear is coming true. When can we start worrying about the Awami brute majority?
8:14 pm: Murad Qureshi: Sylhet I latest; After 57 poll station have come in ( out of 270 ) Abdul Muhith of Awami League is 12,000 votes ahead. Reported that Nizami has lost his seat. Saifur Rahman has officially lost Molvibazar.
8:06 pm: Asif: Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury, an accused war criminal, has lost by 13000 votes in one of his seats.
8:05 pm: Naeem: Email received from Emily Jacir in Palestine: “Mabrook! Palestine is with Bangladesh! Keep us posted.” And Francesca Recchia in Iraq: “”wowowow this is so exciting! mabrook!”"
Rumi 8 PM: I don’t see any seat where BNP is leading so far.. even traditional BNP strongholds are showing heavy AL lead…This is no longer an early trend.. this is the result..

7:48 pm: Naeem: I find it amazing to watch the Election Commission announcing the results live as they roll in. Contrast with the back room manipulation and complete opacity of past elections. By the way NEW AGE’s website still has no live results. One journalist I just spoke to gave his theory that something was wrong with EC’s live feed. They would have been better off having an army of laptop warriors typing it on the fly.

7:45 pm: Naeem: Took a quick coffee break at Cafe Mango. Festive mood. The place is usually packed with yoing crowd, so today all first-time voters. I took quick snap of friend’s proud thumb. Only thing missing is a TV to watch results!
Rumi: 730: A 2/3rd by AL only ( minus JP) is not impossible at this point.
7:05 pm: Asif Seats to watch: where the 28 war criminals are running. http://www.sachalayatan.com/smtanvir/20728
6:58 pm: Asif: Seeing a very heavy traffic in the blog site. In the event that there is bandwidth issue, we will switch to the http://drishtipat.org/blog site. Just a heads up. Ladies and gents, please share your views on the comment section.
6.55pm: Jyoti: I am going to scream next time someone makes a stupid comparison with Obama.
6:52 PM: Jyoti: Meanwhile Badsha (AL) 29,000 vs Minu (BNP) 20,000 in Rajshahi Sadr. This used to be heavily BNP (and before that ML). Even in 1973 AL lost here. Liton’s win in the mayor race was meant to be because BNP was not ‘in the game’. If Badsha wins then we are potentially looking at a new political landscape tomorrow morning.
6:45 PM: Asif: Channel I has rented a helicopter. How about a good pre election poll next time. Here is a not a so intellectual but simple wish from my niece:
I am aware of elections. I was reading the paper for a few days. I was registered last year, but I don’t think there is an absentee balot system if you are not in the country. Either way, hopefully this time everything will work out and there won’t be any criminals in power. Since i am not there, the only thing to do is hope for some good to come out of everything and pray that the people in power will make the proper decisions to benefit our country and not themselves, because it has been long overdue.
6.27 PM: Asif: Update from Murad Qureshi, UK politician, in Sylhet:
The ‘exit polls’ in Sylhet I look good for Muhith and the Nouka. It could well be a landslide for him. Sylhet 4 is looking good for the Awami League as well. Its seat like this one which the Awami League need to win. Off to the Hafiz centre tonight and keeping to my prediction in Sylhet district.
6:15 PM Rumi: Just note of caution.. first few centers reported in 2001 all went for AL. But so far the trend even in BNP seats shows a Nouka victory…
Kushtia 4 Nouka 13540, BNP 9000 [ BNP seat]
Rajshahi 2 Nouka 28000, BNP 19000 [ Badsha and Minu]
6.11pm: Jyoti: Too many channels. Which one to watch? I know, I know, digital Bangladesh, transparency, citizen journalism and all that, but in the old days it was much simpler – you just watched BTV and had a pen and paper. I am at Channel I because Samia Apa rocks.
Oh wait, they’re talking too much, off to RTV. Joi Remote. Remote Zindabad.
6 PM: Mridul: Got one more: we received result from one center of tangail, BAL= 897, BNP = 566, Gamsa =448
550 PM: Asif: Email from a friend. All my friends who always votes Dhaner sheesh has voted Nouka. So his money is on Nouka. But here is the thing, Dhanmondi wallas are voting for Taposh in big numbers. So this may not be a trend.
540 PM: Rumi: Gopalganj 3 Hasina 7833, BNP 262
520 PM : Rumi.. Center No 1 of Khulna 2. Nouka 760, Dhaner Sheesh 349…. if this is any trend..Khulna 2 used to be a BNP stronghold..
5:15 pm: Asif: Meanwhile in London, getting calls from media for j

any1 know of a table format of the results?…some thing color coded maybe?…:S…simple korey buj’tay chai…:S Thanks….
great news indeed; salahuddin quader chowdhury – down in one place.
how about No?
Electronic media is super slow. Channel I is bit funny. They have been declaring the result of one seat till 15 minutes. even telling about the person who got 7 votes.
Any way Mr Abul Mal Muhit looks clear winner on my home sylhet1. Speculation is that saifur Rahman even lost Moulovi Bazar seat. Tapash, Nanok and Saber have own already
