Bangladesh’s long wait for justice

On a recent visit to the capital Dhaka our reporter Katie Hamann met with families of those who were killed and others pushing for the establishment of a war crimes tribunal.

She asked them why it has taken so long and whether justice can finally be achieved.

    What do you suggest now? Would you like us to wait another 100/200 years to change our judicial system and then starting the war criminal trial?

    For a maternal uncle of mine, who was forced to work as a translator for the Pakistani killers, there won’t be any justice because no one actually knows who ditched his body just before the declaration of a free Bangladesh.
